One of the nation’s largest organizations in support of traditional marriage is urging the Connecticut General Assembly to reject a new bill that will allow same-sex marriage to be taught in schools and would remove a conscience protection clause that protects religious institutions from lawsuits demanding that they do the same.

Vermont became the fourth state in the U.S. to recognize same-sex marriage yesterday when both houses of the state legislature garnered enough votes to overcome Republican Gov. Jim Douglas’ threatened veto.

The Supreme Court of the state of Iowa has unanimously decided that homosexuals should have the right to marry and will allow same-sex marriages to take place beginning April 24.
Victory for Traditional Marriage in Hawaii and Vermont

The battle to preserve traditional marriage resulted in two critical victories this week. The Governor of Vermont announced he will veto a same-sex marriage bill passed by the legislature this week and lawmakers in the state of Hawaii failed to come up with enough votes to release a civil unions bill from a committee in which it has been stalled.
California Supreme Court Likely to Uphold Proposition 8

After several hours of oral arguments, justices on the California Supreme Court seemed unlikely to overturn Proposition 8, a Nov. 4 ballot initiative in which the people of California voted to amend their constitution to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.
CA Supreme Court to Hear Arguments on Same-Sex Marriage

The California Supreme Court will hear arguments tomorrow over the constitutionality of Proposition 8, the November ballot measure that reinstated a ban on same-sex marriage. Their decision is expected within 90 days of the hearing.
