Fed up with the lack of coverage of one of the most gruesome abortion stories of all time, pro-life groups around the country are organizing a "Tweetfest" today with the aim of flooding Twitter with stories about the trial of "House-of-Horrors' abortionist Kermit Gosnell.
LifeSiteNews is reporting that pro-life forces around the country are taking on the disgraceful media bias that has been blacking out the story of the trial of Kermit Gosnell, the West Philadelphia abortionist who is on trial for murdering one woman and killing seven babies born alive after an abortion by severing their spinal cords with a scissor.
Testimony from within the courtroom gets more gruesome by the day. For instance, one staffer reported having to kill a baby who was about 18 to 24 inches long who did not yet have eyes or a mouth. The tiny child was "screeching, making this noise" that "sounded like a little alien . . . . It really freaked me out," the woman said.
Others testified to the bags full of fetuses that were kept in the freezer, the unsanitary instruments used during procedures, and how some women were left to deliver their babies in the toilet.
In spite of these horrors, the pro-abortion media has almost completely ignored the story, infuriating even some of their own.
Fro instance, Fox News analyst and Daily Beast columnist Kirsten Powers, a liberal feminist, minced no words in condemning the liberal media for refusing to report on this story.
“Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven't heard about these sickening accusations?" Powers asks in a recent column. “It's not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page.”
She continues: “Let me state the obvious. This should be front page news. When Rush Limbaugh attacked Sandra Fluke, there was non-stop media hysteria. ... Yet, accusations of babies having their heads severed — a major human rights story if there ever was one — doesn't make the cut. You don't have to oppose abortion rights to find late-term abortion abhorrent or to find the Gosnell trial eminently newsworthy. This is not about being ‘pro-choice’ or ‘pro-life.’ It's about basic human rights."
But today is the day when the media blackout ends. Pro-lifers from around the nation, organized by leaders such as Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life and Bryan Kemper of Stand True Ministries, are storming Twitter with links to stories about the Gosnell trial using the hashtag #Gosnell. The hope is that this will ensure that a large number of Twitter users will see Gosnell-related Tweets, and learn about the trial.
As of this writing, it is trending at #2 on Twitter!
