SaveJames.comA jury has ruled against the father of a seven-year-old boy who was trying to protect his son after his mother enrolled him in school as a girl and expressed her intention to have the child undergo the transition process.
CBN is reporting on the story of Jeff Younger who went to court to fight his ex-wife over her desire to see James, one of their twin sons, transition into a girl. The boy’s mother, Anne Georgulas, is accusing him of child abuse for refusing to pay for the boy’s transitioning medications and for not treating James like a girl.
However, as Younger told the court, James only expresses interest in femininity when he’s with his mother.
"James presents as a boy with me and he presents as a girl with his mom," Younger said.
When given a choice, James shows no signs of wanting to be a girl. In fact, he loves wrestling, sword fighting, playing video games and looking for bugs.
“Even when in female company, away from me, James rejects a female gender expression,” Younger says on his website.
Because James has never had an independent second opinion of his alleged desire to become a girl, and because he does not meet the criteria of a child suffering from Gender Dysophoria, Younger wants all medical and social intervention to be suspended until a good second opinion can be obtained.
However, LifeSiteNews is reporting that the jury ruled against Younger yesterday, which means his ex-wife now has full authority to transition him into “Luna." Younger will be required to “affirm” James as a girl in spite of his religious and moral objections. He will also be forced to take a class on transgenderism.
The decision, which had a consensus of 11 of the 12 jurors, is shocking, especially in light of the testimony given by experts about the serious side effects of the puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones given to children in transition.
During the trial, Dr. Stephen Levine, a renowned psychiatrist known for his work on human sexuality, and Dr. Paul Hruz, a pediatric endocrinologist, testified against allowing the transitioning.
As LifeSite reports, Dr. Levine eventually got out of the field of transgenderism because it has become less about science and more about advocacy.
“There are some people who are passionately advocating early transition ...The affirmation is intended to make the child happier now,” Dr. Levine said during the trial. “The irony is, the happier now may predispose the child to misery later.”
He went on to outline the three main negative side effects of a hormonal “transition”: infertility, impairment of adult sex function, and a shortened life expectancy.
Dr. Paul Hruz, professor of pediatrics and cellular biology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, took the stand and also warned about the serious side-effects associated with the puberty blockers and cross-sex hormonal therapy administered during the transitioning process.
Dr. Hruz said he does not prescribe puberty blockers because of the seriousness of the side effects and the fact that they are only FDA-approved for precocious puberty, not for use in treating gender “dysphoria.”
Some of the side effects include increased risk of stroke and heart attack and other serious health problems that are cumulative over time.
James will now be subjected to these drugs in spite of the fact that he doesn’t meet the diagnostic criteria for gender dysphoria, at least not according to Dr. Benjamin Albritton who advised the Custody Evaluator in the case.
As Youngers explains on his website. “American psychologists use the DSM-V manual to help diagnose gender dysphoria in children. The book provides eight criteria for diagnosing children. The DSM-V requires that at least six of the diagnostic criteria be met along with significant impairment.”
For example, is the child insistent, consistent and persistent in identifying as the opposte sex?
“James is not insistent: he refuses a female identity at his father’s home. He is not consistent: James is a boy with his father, so his gender presentation is inconsistent with how he presents with his mother. He is not persistent: his gender dysphoria desists with his father,” Younger explains. “James meets none of the criteria and has no impairment. He functions perfectly well as a boy at his father’s home.”
Unfortunately, James’ fate may have just been decided.
Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, tells OneNewsNow that family courts are the new playground to force LGBT beliefs on children in divorce cases.
“And if the one who has custody of the child refuses to comply,” he says, “they're alleging child abuse and mental depravation, and physical harm, by not giving them these frankly harmful, disastrous medicines and surgical intervention.”
A petition drive has been started to demand that the Texas Senate Committee on Health and Human Services step in to save James “and all other children under the threat of ‘social transitioning’.”
Calling sex change surgery on young children “a horrific form of child-abuse” that could subject James and other children like him “grave suffering in the years ahead.”
