Four Pro-Lifers Arrested During Sotomayor Hearings, Including “Jane Roe”

By Susan Brinkmann, OCDS Staff Writer On just her first day on the Hill, the hearings to confirm Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor have been interrupted several times by outbursts from pro-life protestors. One of these protestors, Norma McCorvey, the woman known as “Jane Roe” in the landmark abortion ruling, Roe v. Wade, was arrested after shouting “You’re wrong, Sotomayor!”

New Poll Finds 86 Percent of Americans Favoring Abortion Restrictions

Justice Ginsburg Admits Abortion Intended to Control Unwanted Populations

By Susan Brinkmann, OCDS Staff Writer During a recent interview with The New York Times, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said she always believed Medicaid should cover abortions and admitted that she expected Roe v. Wade to facilitate such coverage in order to control the population of groups “that we don’t  want to have too many of.”
