White House Touts New Birth Control Study

In an effort to bolster their case for forcing taxpayers to provide free birth control to women, the White House is touting a new study that says birth control lowers both abortion and teen pregnancy rates, even though these results directly conflict with a host of larger studies.

An Urgent Call... "For Such A Time As This"

Our nation is in the midst of its own “Battle of Lepanto.” Our temporal order – the institutions and enterprises of man, his culture and his society – has been infiltrated by an anti-life, anti-Gospel, anti-Church agenda.  The “final confrontation” intimated by Karol Cardinal Wojtyla when he addressed the United States Bishops in 1976 seems to have arrived. From Cairo and the Middle East, to Congress and the Senate, to the attack against the union of one man and one woman in marriage, to the proliferation of the morally reprehensible, to the efforts of Planned Parenthood and sex education in our schools, we see the frontal attack of the “Agenda of the Anti-.“ As Women of Grace® “impregnated with the spirit of the gospel” we must respond.

Judges Take Up HHS Mandate in Court

Oral arguments were presented in a Detroit courtroom last week in a motion to stop the implementation of the controversial birth control mandate, while a judge in Missouri dismissed a similar suit on grounds that it did not substantially burden a Catholic businessman's right to the free exercise of his religion.

Bioethics Center Advises Non-Exempt Catholic Employers to Drop Health Insurance

The National Catholic Bioethics Center (NCBC) has published guidelines for Catholic employers who are struggling to navigate the moral implications of the Obama Administration's birth control mandate, advising some business that it is more morally licit to drop the insurance than to obey the law.
