It’s not easy to keep the faith when it’s being challenged on every front these days. From COVID restrictions to political sea-changes, outright censorship and the tyrannical “cancel” culture, it’s no wonder so many of us are crying out, “Where are you God?”
A friend is the fabric which covers your life with Christ love. One friend’s famous quote sown in my soul is, “We all know Jesus loves us but sometimes you need Jesus with skin on.” A true friend is one who shows Christ’s love in action.
I will never forget the word my prayer partner, Judy, spoke to me just before we uprooted our lives to retire in Florida. “Are you going to leave your children and your friends and move all the way to Florida?” These words came from the heart of God and from the knowledge of being a friend who knew me like a sister. We had been daily prayer partners for almost thirty years. Those words took root in my soul.
Spoiler alert! The moral of this blog is not to advise you to ask God for help before making your resolutions. That’s a no-brainer. The point is to show you, from first-hand experience, just how much better God can "do" our resolutions than we can.
We all long for peace of soul, the kind of supernatural joy that can remain steadfast and robust even in the midst of the trials and anxieties of 21st century life.
