Prides' Paradox

“Humility in relation to love means thinking others better than ourselves. One advantage of this is that it gives us some examples to imitate. Pride, on the other hand, sometimes seeks first place that others may say, “Oh! What greatness!” Pride, too, can subtly take the last place that others may say, “What humility!”

                                                                      -  Bishop Fulton J. Sheen

For Reflection:

Based on the quote above, what is one advantage to thinking better of others than of ourselves? Who can I imitate? What are the two “faces” of pride exposed in the quote above? To what extent do I operate in either of these ways?
