Beginning in the early 1990s, any home with a computer and a phone line could access pornography via the Internet. It was accessible, affordable and anonymous. It could be viewed any time of day or night and the types of pornography available seemed endless. Porn became mainstreamed (Carnes 2007, Dines 2010, Struthers 2009).
