“The angels have five duties. The first is to continually sing hymns and praises to their Creator (Is. 6: 1-3). The second duty is to present the prayers of mortals to God and commend them with their petitions (Tb. 12:12). The third duty consists in their being sent as messengers to declare what God wants to declare (Gn. 18:2 Dn. 9:21; Lk. 1:11, 26 Lk. 2:9; Mt. 1:20, 2:13, 19; Mt. 28:2). The fourth duty is protecting men whether as individuals or groups (Ps. 91:11; Mt. 18:10; Dt. 10:5 ff; Rev. 2 and 3). The last duty is to serve as soldiers and armed leaders (Ps. 149:7; Gn. 19: 13; Ex. 12:12 ff; 2 Kgs 19:35; Mt. 13:49, 50). Let good men love their fellow citizens, the angels.” ~St. Robert Bellarmine For Reflection: One way I can show the angels my love is by imitating them in their duties. In what way(s) can I do this?

THE HARVEST IS PLENTIFUL The world is in need of many things. But there is no doubt that it is in great need of apostles who are holy, cheerful, loyal to the Church and eager to make Christ known. The Lord is calling for us to work in his fields: Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest. Prayer is the most effective means of winning new apostles. Our apostolic zeal has to be manifested, first of all, in a continuous prayer of petition for new apostles. Prayer always comes first. That cry of the Son of God, lamenting that the harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few, is always relevant. How it tears at our heartstrings. that cry came from Christ's mouth for you to hear too. How have you responded to it up to now? Do you pray at least daily for that intention of His?
