Newsbuster’s Katie Yoder is reporting on the video recently released by Principal Financial Group, which is based in Iowa.
The ad, entitled, “Graduation,” follows the relationship between a young man and woman who suddenly discover that they are expecting. As they sit in a vehicle, in the pouring rain, he says, “Well, I can just quit school and get a job . . .”
The next scene shows the woman comforting her baby boy, whispering, “It’s okay, daddy’s home . . .” as her husband walks through the door.
As the video progresses, the boy grows into a teen. In one scene, the mother sits at the table and says, “I think we can do this . . .” just before we see the boy heading off to college.
In the end, the boy graduates from college.
The one-minute video ends with the words“Life doesn’t always go according to plan," followed by “We can help with that.”
It’s the last place you would ever expect to see such a strong pro-life message, but it appears to be working.
Since the ad was launched on March 6, it has garnered 1.5 million hits on YouTube.
