Manufactured Town Hall Outrage Results in Booing Jesus & Pledge

70124305_sA group of enraged protesters at a town hall event in Louisiana – who were later discovered to have been organized by the anti-Trump group Indivisible Guide – booed loudly when the chaplain invoked the name of Jesus and when a Vietnam War veteran attempted to lead the group in the pledge of allegiance.

Fox News’ Todd Starnes is reporting on the shocking behavior of organized protestors at a February 22 town hall event in Metaire, Louisiana hosted by Senator Bill Cassidy. It began when Louisiana State Chaplain Michael Sprague attempted to open the meeting with a prayer which was met by a raucous round of boos the moment Jesus’ name was mentioned.

“Pray on your own time! This is our time!” someone shouted at him. “Amen. Let’s get on with it.”

Others members shouted, “Separation of church and state!”

Just after this deplorable display, a Vietnam War veteran tried to lead a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance and was heckled mercilessly. Some turned their backs on him while others refused to stand or put their hand on their heart.

“The mainstream media would have us believe the unruly demonstrations are part of an organic, grassroots effort,” Starnes writes. "But I sincerely doubt many in the mob were actually residents of Louisiana – because I know the good people of Louisiana and nobody behaves like that in the Bayou State. Folks are raised right in Cajun Country. There’s no way anybody would embarrass their mommas by acting the fool in public. I’d be willing to bet a cup of Community Coffee that the Jesus-hating rabble-rousers were shipped in from some God-forsaken place like Berkeley or Brooklyn.”

His prediction wasn’t too far from the truth. Leaked audio, obtained by local radio station KPEL, captured activists plotting how to best manufacture a hostile environment at the town hall in order to convince the public that Sen. Cassidy’s support for Trump is unpopular with his constituents.

On the tape, the activists decide to split up into an “inside team” – which was tasked with occupying as many seats as possible in the room – and an “outside team” meant to “give [the media] the coverage they want” before coming inside. Activists were instructed to dress like conservatives and carry no placards or other signs that might identify them as liberals.

“The leftist activists strategized how best to 'dominate' the question-and-answer section of the town hall and keep anyone ‘sympathetic’ to Cassidy from asking a question,” the Daily Caller reports.

“If we can arrange it so he doesn’t hear one sympathetic question–great. That only magnifies our impact,” one of the organizers said on the tape.

KPEL later identified the speaker as James Proctor of Indivisible Acadiana, a local branch of the national Indivisible organization, which has been organizing hostile Republican town halls all around the country.

Even more disturbing is news that Indivisible recently partnered up with Organizing for Action, the activist group aligned with former President Obama.

In spite of it all, Starnes still has hope in America.

"Is it possible that liberals will one day pledge allegiance to the flag instead of burn the flag? Is it possible that liberals will one day revere the name of Jesus?  Is it possible that liberals will one day respect President Trump? I am hopeful, but to be honest – it would take a miracle of biblical proportions."
