“Hodari babies” to be Buried on Saturday

(May 1, 2008) A funeral service for the babies found in the dumpster of a Michigan abortuary owned by the notorious late-term abortionist, Dr. Alberto Hodari, will be buried on May 3 after a funeral Mass celebrated by Detroit Bishop John Quinn.
Now known as the “Hodari babies”, the remains of more than 15 aborted babies found in the dumpster were taken to a funeral home by Dr. Monica Migliorino Miller, director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society shortly after their discovery in February.
"This is not the first time that my friend Monica Miller has organized such a work of mercy for discarded children like this,” said Father Frank Pavone, founder of Priests for Life, in a press release. “Her work spans the last couple of decades, and it has been my honor to participate with her in similar funeral services in the past.”
Father Pavone is calling upon all of the nation’s Catholic priests to offer a Mass within the next few days for the “Hodari babies.”
"This Saturday's service is no ordinary funeral,” Father Pavone said. “There are still too many of our fellow citizens who don't even acknowledge that the people who will be buried this Saturday are people at all. To mourn their deaths publicly, therefore, is not just to honor them, but to sound a wake-up call to our nation that we are living amidst the biggest holocaust of all time.”
The remains were discovered two months ago when members of Miller’s group found them amidst other bio-hazardous waste and patient records in a dumpster behind the Woman Care clinics in Lathrup Village, Michigan. Local law enforcement along with representatives of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) conducted an investigation which resulted in Miller receiving a $1,100 fine for keeping evidence in her home while Hodari was merely asked to retrain his employees regarding proper waste disposal.
The DEQ defended its decision by claiming that Hodari’s violation was a one-time, isolated instance.
“This is not true. And the DEQ knows it’s not true!” said Miller in a March 26 press release. “We gave them evidence of violations that we discovered on February 24 and March 2nd. Furthermore, we gave them evidence of violations at other Hodari abortion clinics - not just the one in Lathrup Village. There’s no question that Hodari violated the law multiple times and probably has been doing this for years.”
“There is no justice when it comes to abortion,” said Jill Stanek, R.N., the Illinois nurse who was fired for speaking up about a hospital’s practice of allowing babies who survived late-term abortions to die.
“Authorities and judges are either pro-aborts or are cowed by pro-aborts.”
This is why a courageous witness for life is so important, Father Pavone said.
“I call upon my brother priests nationwide to bring to the attention of their congregations this weekend that children are being buried who were brutally, legally killed, and that the killing has to end,” he said.
