CBS 11 is reporting that Dallas Police Sargeant Mark Johnson of the Southeast Patrol Division brought a Chick-fil-A sandwich on Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day and brought it into the briefing room. Words were exchanged between himself and two female officers who were lesbians. Even though it remains unclear who started the argument, the police department moved the sergeant to a midnight shift which is considered to be a punishment.
The Dallas Police Association (DPA), who represents all three officers, claims they are receiving two versions of the story and while they remain neutral on the issue, they are dismayed by the fact that the department transferred Johnson before any investigation was complete.
"The bottom line is we had a sergeant who has been transferred because he brought a Chick-fil-A sandwich to work," said DPA president Ron Pinkston to myFoxdfw.com. "And he was transferred without due process."
The DPA is pushing for mediation for all three officers in the incident but as of this writing, this has not occurred.
