75 Percent Want Christmas Celebrated in Public Schools

christmas chalkboardEven though attempts to censor Christmas from the culture are everywhere these days, a new Rasmussen poll found that 75 percent of Americans want Christmas to be a part of public schools.

"Despite school administrators’ concerns nationwide, Americans strongly believe that Christmas should be a part of public schools. They feel just as strongly that religious symbols should be allowed on public property," reports Rasmussen.

"Seventy-five percent (75%) of American Adults think Christmas should be celebrated in public schools, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Just 15% disagree, while 10% are not sure."

This is hardly surprising given an earlier poll which found a majority of Americans (52%) who believe there is not enough religion in schools and actually favor prayer in schools. Only 11 percent of those polled believed there was too much religion in schools while 29 percent said they felt the current mix of classroom and religion was "about right."

In spite of attempts to exorcise Christmas from our schools by atheist groups, the American Civil Liberties Union, and a host of school administrators across the country, mainstream America loves Christmas and is not in favor of attempts to censor it out of the classroom or society.
