Family Group Calls for Nationwide Boycott of Home Depot

The nation's largest grass roots family organization, the American Family Association (AFA) is calling for a nationwide boycott of Home Depot for allowing employees to sport pro-homosexuality buttons on their aprons even though they fired a Christian employee last year for refusing to remove a "One Nation Under God" button.
The AFA summed up the situation at Home Depot in an e-mail alert to members: " . . . If you wear a 'One Nation Under God' button, you will be fired. If you wear a 'gay' button, you get company praise."
The latest incident involves a former Home Depot employee named Trevor Keezer, a Christian man who wore a "One Nation Under God, Indivisible" button on his work apron to show his support for a 27 year-old brother serving in Iraq. Keezer claims he wore the button for more than a year before he was approached by store management last year who asked him to remove the button. When he refused, he was fired.
Home Depot Management told the Associated Press (AP) at the time that Keezer was fired because he violated the company's dress code.
"This associate chose to wear a button that expressed his religious beliefs. The issue is not whether or not we agree with the message on the button," said Home Depot's Craig Fishel. "That's not our place to say, which is exactly why we have a blanket policy, which is long-standing and well-communicated to our associates, that only company-provided pins and badges can be worn on our aprons."
However, Keezer's lawyer Kara Skorupa, is suing the Atlanta-based company. "There are federal and state laws that protect against religious discrimination," she told the AP. "It's not like he was out in the aisles preaching to people."
She also noted that the slogan on Keezer's pin is straight from the Pledge of Allegiance. "These mottos and sayings that involve God, that's part of our country and historical fabric," Skorupa said. "In God we trust is on our money."
Even though Keezer was fired for wearing a patriotic button, Home Depot employees routinely wear aprons that are boldly emblazoned with pro-homosexuality messages.
When confronted about the discrepancy in their policy, "The Home Depot defended them by saying homosexual employees will not be prohibited 'in any way' when it comes to what they do and wear," the AFA reports.
As a result of this and the company's long-standing policy of promoting homosexuality, the AFA is launching an official boycott of their stores.
This is only the latest in a years-long attempt by the AFA to convince the popular do-it-yourself home hardware company to stay out of the culture war regarding homosexuality. Instead, the company has given financial and corporate support to gay pride parades throughout the country, events that typically bring displays of adult nudity and depravity into the streets of America.
"Rather than remain neutral in the culture war, The Home Depot has chosen to sponsor and participate in numerous gay pride parades and festivals," the AFA reports. "Most grievous is The Home Depot's deliberately exposing small children to lascivious displays of sexual conduct by homosexuals and cross-dressers, which are a common occurrence at these events."
In 2008, the Home Depot sponsored the Durham Pride Weekend with a kid's workshop and parade march. Other events at the march exposed children to "Massages for [same-sex] Couples" and "Drag Shows."
The company donated over $5,000 to the Nashville Gay Pride Festival last year and has also sponsored parades in Atlanta, Kansas City, Portland and San Diego. They set up a "Kid's Workshop" at this year's Southern Maine Pride festival.
In addition, the company offers insurance benefits that cover sex-change operations for employees and their same-sex partners.
The AFA is inviting concerned families to join thousands of other Americans who have decided to boycott Home Depot stores because of its outspoken support and continuing participation in advancing the homosexual agenda.
