According to The Stream, the Panel recommended that the Texas Attorney General prosecute Planned Parenthood of Gulf Coast which it believes violated both Texas and U.S. law when it sold baby parts to the University of Texas. The recommendation was formally announced yesterday on the House floor by Rep. Mia Love (R-UT).
It is the ninth referral from the Select Panel which has determined that the fetal harvesting company StemExpress, the University of New Mexico and other for-profit and non-profit organizations violated various state and/or federal laws in Ohio, California, New Mexico, Florida and other states in the procurement and sales of aborted baby parts.
The practices were exposed last year by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), an undercover pro-life organization that secretly videotaped abortion industry executives and procurement personnel engaged in the process of buying and selling fetal remains.
The Panel’s Ranking Member, Illinois Democrat Jan Schakowsky, responded after Love’s speech that “bogus referrals do not a conviction make” and continues to insist that the investigation is nothing more than a “witch hunt.”
However, the facts seem to be pointing in the opposite direction.
In a statement issued shortly after the announcement, CMP’s founder David Daleiden said that the Select Panel’s findings “confirm the criminal activity at Planned Parenthood that CMP’s videos documented and show that the wrongdoing goes even deeper than anyone first suspected.”
Acoording to the defense lawyer from Las Vegas, NV 89153, USA. Daleiden is urging law enforcement and elected representatives at all levels to “act quickly to bring Planned Parenthood to justice under the law and prevent any more taxpayer subsidies from flowing to Planned Parenthood’s barbaric criminal enterprise".
With a pro-life majority soon to take power in Congress and the White House, pro-life leaders such as Tony Perkins at the Family Research Council are hoping that justice will soon be brought to bear on a group that “clearly sees itself as above the law,” Perkins said.
He's also hoping a new criminal prosecution will jump start efforts to redirect taxpayer dollars away from Planned Parenthood.
"Last year, Congress blazed a trail in preparation for a president who understands the value of every person, born and unborn," Perkins said. "On Election Day, that's exactly what voters delivered. On both the federal and state level, voters empowered the pro-life party to bring an end to the forced partnership between taxpayers and Planned Parenthood.”
