Residents in the city of Houston have been left stunned after a pair of MS-13 gang members from El Salvador were charged with the kidnapping and torture of one teenage girl and the “Satanic” ritual murder of a second teen.
The Houston Chronicle is reporting on the shocking details of the crime committed last month by Miguel (aka "Diabolico") Alvarez-Flores, 22, and Diego Hernandez Rivera, 18, both illegal immigrants and members of the violent MS-13 gang.
According to details read in a court hearing last week, one of the victims allegedly ran away from school around Feb. 2, to an apartment on Glenmont in Houston. When she tried to leave, she was held against her will for four days while being sexually assaulted by one of the gang members. The victim was then held for another 14 days at a different location until she managed to escape.
This victim, whose name has not been released, told detectives that there were six gang members living in the apartment who forced her to take drugs and alcohol which kept her in an intoxicated state during most of her confinement.
She also described a Satanic shrine at the residence along with rituals performed by gang members.
One incident involved gang members holding her down while Alvarez-Flores tattooed the image of the grim reaper from her knee to her foot.
Another teenaged girl, known only as Genesis, was being held at the apartment at the same time.
According to the Washington Post, the last time this girl was seen alive was when she made an outburst against the satanic shrine.
“Diabolico (Alvarez-Flores) was offended at the outburst,” the prosecutor said during last week’s court proceedings.
He approached the statue and offered it a cigarette, then turned back to the other gang members and said, “The beast did not want a material offering, but wanted a soul,” the prosecutor continued.
Genesis was not seen again until the morning of February 16 when her body was found on a street near Houston’s Chinatown area. She had a bullet hole in her head and another in her chest, both of which appeared to have been fired at close range.
Eventually, Houston detectives pieced together what happened and raided the apartment where Alvarez-Flores and Hernandez-Rivera were found. They allegedly admitted to involvement in the girl’s death and were arrested.
It was later revealed that Genesis was taken by the group to supposedly meet up with a marijuana dealer. Instead, they pulled the car over and told her to sit down in the grass. Alvarez-Flores handed his gun to Hernandez-Rivera who used it to shoot and kill the girl.
The men, who playfully laughed and waved at TV cameras during court proceedings last Thursday, were taken to the Harris County Jail, where they are being held on $150,000 bond. If they are able to make bail, they will be held by federal immigration authorities.
The shocking details of this murder only add to the growing list of violent crimes committed by members of the MS-13 gang which has been implicated in a wave of murders in Virginia, Texas and New York where three teens were recently killed by members of the same gang.
