The Rosary -- A Way to Contemplation

Today we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. This prayer, though simple in form, is really a way to take us to the depths of union with God.     The following is from The Women of Grace Foundational Study Guide.

The Rosary is an ancient prayer form that incorporates all three categories of prayer -- vocal, meditative, and contemplative. Its name is derived from the word rosarius,  meaning a garland or bouquet of roses. This popular devotion has been practiced in teh Chruch for more than a thousand years.

Parents: Beware of Bad Books in Schools!

The book came from a teacher at the school.

Divine Mercy -- Gift for Our Times

“Doctored” Event at White House Draws Criticism

Pope to Visit England Where Queen is said to be Warming to Catholicism

By Susan Brinkmann, OCDS Staff Journalist During the first papal visit to the UK since 1982, which is scheduled for 2010, Pope Benedict XVI will find a warm welcome at Buckingham Palace by the Queen is said to be “appalled” by the liberal leanings of the Church of England and growing “increasingly sympathetic” to the Catholic Church.
