You are witnesses

April 19th

"Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures. And he said to them, 'Thus it is written that the Messiah would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day and that repentance, for the forgiveness of sins, would be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

You are witnesses of these things. And [behold] I am sending the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.'”

-Luke 24:45-49

How sweet the Eucharistic presence

September 14
"How sweet the [Eucharistic] presence of Jesus to the longing, harassed soul! It is instant peace, and balm to every wound."
-St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
Today’s Reflection:
Dear Lord,
How many times have I experienced the healing balm of Your Presence, both in the Eucharist and through Your Word in Sacred Scripture! Plunge me ever deeper into the Sacred Mysteries, that they may produce abundant
fruit in my life. Amen.

The grace of the Holy Spirit seeks

September 13
"The assembly should prepare itself to encounter its Lord and to become 'a people well disposed.' The preparation of hearts is the joint work of the Holy Spirit and the assembly, especially of its ministers. The grace of the Holy Spirit seeks to awaken faith, conversion of heart, and adherence to the Father's will. These dispositions are the precondition both for the reception of other graces conferred in the celebration itself and the fruits of new life which the celebration is intended to produce afterward."
-Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1098
Today’s Reflection:
What is the role of the Holy Spirit in preparing us to encounter the Lord through the Sacred Liturgy?

Have you embraced the battle?

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” -Ephesians 6:10 - 13

How will you respond to the Sacred Heart of Jesus?

“My Divine Heart is so passionately in love with humanity that it can no longer contain within itself the flames of its ardent love. It must pour them out through [you], and manifest itself to them with its precious treasures, which contain all the graces which they need to be saved.” -Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

Are you present to the present moment?

“As they were going along the road, a man said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.” To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” But he said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.” Another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but let me first say farewell to those at my home.” Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”¬ - Luke 9:57-62

Be filled with the Spirit

May 23
Solemnity of Pentecost
"Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to [n]God, even the Father..."
-Ephesians 5:18-20
Today’s Reflection:
On this great and holy day, may we be filled with EVERY SPIRITUAL BLESSING IN THE HEAVENS! How can we make each day of our lives a symphony of prayer, a melody of love which rises to the throne of God in praise and gratitude for His generous gift of the Holy Spirit?
