It must have been one of those “God-incidences.” Yesterday’s invocation by openly homosexual Episcopal bishop Gene V. Robinson on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, which began with “O God of our many understandings,” wasn’t heard by too many people. A malfunctioning microphone and HBO's decision not to include the prayer in their coverage resulted in Robinson's message being largely unheard.

In his video address to participants at the Sixth World Meeting of Families in Mexico City, Pope Benedict XVI said families must become “a living Gospel which everyone may read” and called upon Christians everywhere to work for “adequate cultural, juridical, economic, social and health protection for families,” and support for freedom of choice in the schooling of their children.

Under a hail of criticism, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has corrected its announcement about celebrating “freedom of choice” on Inauguration Day with a free doughtnut of "choice." The company realized the inappropriateness of its phrasing and reissued the announcement with the offending language removed.
