The leaders of three Catholic dioceses in Illinois - Springfield, Peoria and Joliet - initiated legal action yesterday on behalf of their Catholic Charities asking the courts to allow them to continue to provide foster care without recognizing the parental rights granted to same-sex and cohabiting couples in a recently enacted civil unions bill.

The Thomas More Society announced late yesterday afternoon that Michael Dvorak, St. Joseph County, Indiana prosecutor, dismissed the criminal trespass charges that he has pressed over the last two years against almost all of the "ND88," the individuals arrested for peacefully protesting the University's honoring of President Barack Obama at the 2009 Commencement. Dvorak dropped the charges as part of an agreement between the Thomas More Society and the University.

In spite of the extensive coverage given whenever an act of violence is perpetrated against an abortion clinic, when an unknown assailant threw a Molotov cocktail at an elderly woman who was part of a 40 Days for Life protest last week in Kalispell, Montana, not even the local police paid much attention.
